Salvation Army, MolinaCares Distributing Winter Coats to Community

During the winter season, wearing protective outer layers can make all the difference in the world for those who don’t have coats for the cold.

The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is helping those most in need in a partnership with The MolinaCares Accord to provide 2,000 winter coats to children and adults in the community this Saturday.

Coats, ranging in sizes from 12 months to 5X, were distributed via drive-through while supplies lasted. Over 2,000 coats were available; part of Coats for Kids initiative. During the event, The Salvation Army Bed & Bread truck was on-site to provide hot chocolate. Santa and his elves also delivered candy bags and holiday cheer to those attending.

The coat event happened between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at The Salvation Army Conner Creek Corps Community Center, 3000 Conner Street in Detroit.
