Humana joins MAHP
LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP) has announced that Humana will become the 11th health insurance provider to join the association.
This month, the MAHP Board of Directors unanimously approved a leading health and wellness company, Humana. Humana has more than 16 million members nationwide and provides health insurance in every state.
In Michigan, Humana has served the aging and disabled population as a Medicare Advantage and dual (Medicare-Medicaid eligible) insurance provider, as well as TRICARE members through Humana Military.
This year, MDHHS awarded Humana with a contract to manage benefits for the new MI Coordinated Care Plan, a Highly Integrated Dual Special Needs Plan (HIDE-SNP). As part of this contract, Humana will bring its robust provider networks, strong community partnerships, and long experience delivering solutions for complex health needs to eligible members in all 10 regions of the state beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
“Humana’s dedication to serving Michigan customers is matched by MAHP’s commitment to advancing public policies and regulatory changes that will improve healthcare deliverables in all of Michigan’s healthcare markets,” stated MAHP’s executive Director, Dominick Pallone.
“At Humana, we are committed to knowing our members and understanding their whole health, which includes physical, behavioral, and social needs. We take an evidence-based approach in developing our highly integrated plans so that we can ultimately deliver better health outcomes for our members. We believe that MAHP and their members share these same priorities, and we’re pleased to be part of this wonderful organization”, Eric Doeh, Medicaid Regional President, Michigan at Humana.
MAHP collective members now serve more than four million customers in Michigan and are the predominant health plans providing services to the state’s most vulnerable populations in Medicaid and Medicare.
