Cold and flu season is upon us!

Healthcare professionals say now is the time to get your flu shot if you haven’t already as it takes your body about two weeks to build immunity.

Dr. Chris Dehlin of Singletrack Health and Dr. Abby Wales, the director of pharmacy at Upper Peninsula Health Plan, join Tia Trudgeon on the Morning News to share myths and facts about the flu.

You can call your Primary Care Provider and make an appointment to get your flu shot, even if you aren’t due for a visit. You can also make an appointment with your local health department.

Most pharmacies offer the flu shot as well. To find out which pharmacies in your area administer vaccines, visit www.vaccine.gov.
