Priority Health, a nationally recognized nonprofit health plan, has expanded its maternity management program, PriorityMOM™, to ASO, Medicaid and Individual members.
PriorityMOM™ offers support to expectant mothers by walking alongside them through their pregnancy. The program helps reduce the total cost of maternity care, preterm births and postpartum readmissions. Since PriorityMOM™ launched in June 2021 as a pilot program, more than 400 expectant mothers have enrolled.
PriorityMOM™ is a unique program designed to help moms navigate health care decisions and costs. Expectant mothers who enroll in PriorityMOM™ receive personalized information to educate and support them on their journey to becoming a mom. This includes resources that cover issues like hypertension, mental health and diabetes. Priority Health has also partnered with Ovia for members to have access to a free pregnancy tracker and Byram for covered breast pumps.
“As both a health plan provider and part of a health care system, we have the ability to collaboratively look at our current maternity management programs and identify care and education opportunities,” said Karen Meyerson, director of commercial care management at Priority Health. “By expanding PriorityMOM™, we are able to provide additional members an affordable, accessible and innovative maternity program geared to meet their needs throughout their pregnancy.”
