Quality care is central to our managed care plans, making this concept the keystone to their ongoing efforts to make care for their members the best it can be. Plans continuosly monitor outcome measures to track the efficacy of their health care strategies; no other segment of the health care industry is as publicly accountable or reports on as broad a range of measures.
Over the years, the plans have created and implemented a variety of initiatives to improve quality and access in internal administration, clinical disease management, delivery of programs/ services, and community outreach. The MAHP Pinnacle Awards for Best Practices was created in 2001 to document the innovative change and quest for measurable quality improvement among Michigan managed care plans. The awards currently are awarded under the auspices of the MAHP Foundation.
