The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is seeking candidates for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Division Director position within the Bureau of Family Health Services. The position is located in Lansing, Michigan.
This position serves as Director of the WIC Division and is responsible for managing and directing this major statewide program. The position is responsible for nutrition program development, vendor management and payment, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) funded Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Grants, the Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), the overall Special supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children and for interacting with state and federal agencies including the Secretary of State in administering the National Voter Registration Act in all contracted local agencies. The position directs the efforts of managers who oversee 43 FTEs, various contractual support staff and over $162 million in food funds, plus $52 million in Nutrition Services and Administration (NSA) for over 230,000 program participants and 48 contracted local agencies including local public health agencies, community action agencies, urban, rural and migrant health centers and other non-profit agencies.
